Re: English (ludique + aide)
Er... I've got a poor level in English so excuse me beforehand
I think it's a very good idea to open this topic and I hope it can help to progress in this language.
Good luck for all ^^

Re: English (ludique + aide)
Hum, so do I !
I don't know if you can say "in advense" ^^, but I have no idea to correct it
And "a little level" must be wrong too... And, when I can't translate something, I change my sentence : I'm not very good in english.

Re: English (ludique + aide)
aurel2108, you think like a French, and you shouldn't when you try to write in English.
When you try to say something in English, make it simple. You don't need a very complicated sentence like in French. because "I've got a little level in English" fells quite weird, I've never heard that.
So I think that you could say "My English is bad, so excuse me in advance" (and yes, it's "advance", not "advense", that doesn't mean anything)
I think too it's a good idea to create this topic to help each other to speak a good English. Once a time I talked everyday with a friend who talked only in English (she wasn't French), and that was a very good training for me
Well, I don't say that my English is perfect, far of that, but it's quite easy for me to understand and write it.
So I hope I can help some of you, and maybe I will learn things too
If you found any mistake in my post, please tell me

Re: English (ludique + aide)
"I've got a little level in english" => "I've got a low/poor level in english".
"Far of" : "far from"
Excuse me in advance est trop calqué sur le français pour moi, je trouve la formule étrange, j'aurai utilisé "excuse me beforehand" qui signifie la même chose mais sonne mieux je trouve lol, au pire ça fait un mot de vocabulaire en plus
By the way, Neurone67 is totally right, when you speak or write in english, you have to keep it as simple as you can : first it'll help you to avoid any mistakes and second, this is the way the english language is made.
When you need any kind of vocabulary, my advice would be to look over the internet at voilà.fr or google translation, it will translate your french to english, however, it will just be word by word.
I suggest not to bother posting any vocabulary requests here, but if you want some help to understand a text or anything, it will be my pleasure to lend you a hand
As far as I'm concerned, I'm fluent in english, so no problems aroud here, xD, I spent some holidays in Ireland and in the USA, and I'm a regular english reader lol
My accent is far from being excellent, however I like it this way, the french accent is considered really classy by english speakers around the world xD
To get better in english, I have a few suggestions :
-Take your favorite song, get the lyrics, and translate them. Yes, american songs doesn't mean anything at all or are plain rude. But that's the way we like them! xD
-Watch your movie in english when you can. Use english subtitles over french ones when you feel more confortable.
-Take your favorite book, let's say Harry Potter, give it a go in english. It's going to be hard as hell at first, but when you'll finish the book, you'll never have any problem to speak english! xD
Version française (qui n'est pas littérale en fait, mais flemme de relire ce que j'ai écrit à chaque fois xD) Edit : You would rather use "My english teacher told me so"

Re: English (ludique + aide)
Excuse me Samain but I found some mistakes on your post, they aren't very important but showing them can help others to understand.
"so no problems aroud here" read "around", and me I'd say "so no problems about it" because "around here" doesn't mean anything in the context.
"I have a few suggestions :" read "I have few suggestions", the undefined pronoun (is it called like that ?) doesn't exist at its plural from in English.
For the rest I totally agree with Samain, English is made by people who want to speak shortly and efficiently, so don't try to make complicated sentences, because they will feel very weird ("bizarre").
